The Ethical Duties of Healthcare Business: From Corner Clinics to Big Pharma

An influential view of business ethics holds that companies have a primary responsibility to shareholders, as long as they behave legally and morally. Assuming that view is correct (a huge assumption), Dr. Ubel’s presentation will explore whether the ethical duties of pharma companies, device manufacturers, and hospitals differ from Apple, Toyota, or the local cement company.
