Exciting medical research is underway at IU School of Medicine—Indianapolis. Faculty at this campus collaboratively conduct research in many different areas of medicine, including neuroscience, cancer, pediatrics and musculoskeletal disorders. The Indianapolis campus hosts hundreds of advanced research laboratories and research centers that cover bench, translational and clinical outcomes research. Students at IU School of Medicine-Indianapolis have opportunities to work with basic science and clinical faculty on research throughout the academic year.
Health Policy Research
In addition to laboratory-based bench research, the Indianapolis campus hosts a collection of research centers that focus on health care policy and patient outcomes. Research underway at the Center for Health Policy and Professionalism Research focuses on the organization and financing of health care and finding new ways to assess and improve the effectiveness of health services and their impact on patient outcomes. Other centers focused on health delivery include the Bowen Center for Health Workforce Research and Policy and the Center for Global Health and more.
