IU School of Medicine trainees, students and faculty in Indianapolis benefit from strong partnerships with local area hospitals in the IU Health network, including IU Health University Hospital, Riley Hospital for Children at IU Health, and the IU Simon Comprehensive Cancer Center. In addition, tremendous clinical opportunities are available at Eskenazi Health, a large county teaching hospital, as well as a modern tertiary referral VA medical center.
Trainees are able to engage with learning through clinical practice at these nationally ranked teaching hospitals that record several million inpatient and outpatient visits each year. This enormous patient base provides a broad range of superb clinical educational opportunities in and near Indianapolis and allow trainees to gain experience in cutting edge diagnostics, treatments and overall patient care through clerkships and electives. A site coordinator that assists with implementation of the clinical activities is available at all sites.
