Research Education for College Students (RECS) provides a comprehensive understanding of medical research components, methodology, applications and ethics to undergraduate students. This six-week program is comprised of in-person lectures and small group activities that correlate with the program objectives.
Upon completion of the RECS program, participants will have:

An increased knowledge of medical research

An increased knowledge on the importance of regulations regarding research

The ability to identify and evaluate the components of a research manuscript

An understanding of research methodologies and applications

The ability to review data and determine the clinical significance of derived data

An understanding of the practice of evidence-based medicine and the impact of clinical research on patient care

Students will develop a research study and review data based on an area of medicine or public health chosen by the student.
