Spotlight on Rohit Gulati

38041-Gulati, Rohit What is your position and how long have you been with IU?
I am an Assistant Professor of Clinical Pathology and perform subspecialty sign out in Hematopathology. I have been with IU for a total of four years, including 3 years as a faculty member. 

What is your favorite part of your position?
Hematopathology is my passion. My position allows me to diagnose and learn from a diverse spectrum of challenging hematopoietic neoplasm.

Fun fact about you?
I make dinner most weekends for the family while trying to rejuvenate a traditional Indian recipe once in a while. I have recently picked up woodworking as a hobby and continue to add to this skill.

What is your favorite way to spend a day off of work?
I love to spend time with my family and play with my baby boy.

What is the best thing you've learned in your position?
The best advice fueled by personal experiences has been focusing on strategies for effective communication and continuous learning. And I share the same with my trainees/ colleagues.

Favorite Department of Pathology memory?
Indeed, the last few years at IU have brought new joy and happiness in my professional and personal life. Every day brings many positive memories. However, the most prominent is the overall experience of being welcomed to the IU family with the warm and cordial environment by mentors and all colleagues.
