Nominate graduating Hispanic/Latine student for community efforts by March 30

Do you know a graduating Hispanic/Latine student at IU School of Medicine (Class of 2025) that has gone beyond the classroom to uplift and advocate for their community?

If so, nominate them by March 30 for the Javier Sevilla-Martir Community Engagement & Service Award. Students, faculty, and staff can all put forward nominations. Graduating students can also self-nominate.

The award honors an IU medical student who exemplifies academic excellence, leadership, and a deep commitment to advancing health equity for Hispanic/Latine populations. Presented by local members of the National Hispanic Medical Association, it recognizes students who not only excel in medicine but also dedicate themselves to service, outreach, and addressing health disparities—making a meaningful and lasting impact.

The recipient is honored at the 2025 Awards Celebration on May 15 and receives a $500 award in recognition of their contributions.
