MyUSMLE Portal will streamline registration and related services for Step 1 and Step 2 CK, replacing the NLES platform to enhance the examinee experience.

New registration portal for USMLE Step 1, Step 2 CK coming

The United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE) program will launch a new registration portal in the coming months.

MyUSMLE Portal will replace the existing NBME Licensing Exam Services (NLES) platform and will support all registration and related services for Step 1 and Step 2 Clinical Knowledge (CK) for students and graduates of medical education programs accredited by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME) and Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation (COCA).

The new portal is part of a larger effort to create a consistent and efficient examinee experience. It consolidates key services for Step 1 and Step 2 CK into one platform, ensuring seamless access. In future phases, it will offer additional services and functionality. Updates will be shared as they become available.

Examinees with existing NLES accounts will automatically transfer into the portal. These examinees will receive an email link with instructions for accessing registration information and any permits or score reports in the new system.

Until that point, however, examinees should continue to use the NLES platform for all registration and related services for Step 1 and Step 2 CK. Continue to monitor USMLE.org for more information on the timing of the new portal launch.
