Phase 2: Apply for psychiatry scholarship by May 31

The IU School of Medicine Department of Psychiatry will award two $4,000 scholarships to medical students interested in a career in child/adolescent psychiatry. The deadline to apply is May 31, with winners announced by July 1.

To be a candidate for the Arthur B. Richter Scholarship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, you must be:

  • A third-year medical student with above-average grades in the Psychiatry clerkship
  • Willing to take at least one senior elective in child and adolescent psychiatry
  • Complete a brief paper (if you're named a scholarship winner) on a psychiatry topic and attend a few child psychiatry seminars during fourth year

Funds will be dispensed to the winners early in their fourth year of medical school.
