Euchre SIG helps medical students avoid ‘going alone’

Four IU School of Medicine students play Euchre card game at a table.While many IU School of Medicine student interest groups are related to fields of medicine, some are purely about fun and companionship. Given the extraordinary stress of medical school, it is a welcome reprieve.

“The ability to play with my fellow classmates is something unique to IU School of Medicine and helps me feel more connected to my classmates and the greater Indiana community,” Alex Buttars, club member in the Class of 2027, said.

Elizabeth Baker, also a Class of 2027 student and club member, agrees. “The Euchre SIG tournaments bring the heart of Indiana culture to the campus,” she says. “It offers a perfect way for students to bond, unwind, and recharge. It’s a fun break from the intense world of medical school.”
