Become a Research Fellow in Otolaryngology at Mount Sinai

As a Research Fellow, students can engage in a year-long research project with a faculty mentor in the Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery. Each program provides one year of funding and can be tailored to meet the interests of the selected fellow. Students can also shadow clinical activities and are expected to participate in all departmental educational activities, such as head and neck cancer tumor board and grand rounds. Information about ongoing research in the department can be found online. 

Eligibility:
The fellowships are available to students currently in their third year or fourth year of medical school. Consideration will only be given to US visa holders. Fellowship Awards: These are independent scholarships, each to be awarded individually. Each student will receive a stipend of $35,000 for the year to support room and board, with additional funding provided for health benefits. The availability of Fellowships is subject to change every year.

  • An up-to-date CV with current transcript
  • One letter of recommendation
  • A letter of interest/personal statement not to exceed one page detailing your motivation to apply for the Fellowship, what you hope to get out of the year, and how your prior research or other experiences make you an outstanding candidate.
