Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) specialist physicians treat patients with injuries related to work and sports, trauma, and diseases of the musculoskeletal system. Rehabilitation addresses major physical impairments, including stroke, brain injury and spinal cord injury, often in an inpatient setting. PM&R doctors also perform electrodiagnosis (electromyography-EMG) to diagnose nerve and muscle disease.
