The Southwest Indiana Graduate Medical Education Consortium is a collaboration of academic and hospital partners, including Indiana University School of Medicine, St. Vincent Hospital in Evansville, Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper and Deaconess Hospital in Evansville. The consortium offers a superior educational experience for southern Indiana’s residency programs.
The patient population in southern Indiana is ethnically and socioeconomically varied, providing a large, medically and socioeconomically diverse patient base for the resident-faculty practices. Physician educators who have faculty appointments with IU School of Medicine provide training of residents in these programs through scheduled rotations at partner facilities.
