Fresh Faces: Path's newest team members

Welcome our new staff

  Laylah Carter is joining the department as a Research Intern. She is in her third year at IUPUI obtaining a Bachelor’s of Science in Forensic & Investigative Science and a Bachelor’s of Arts in Chemistry. Laylah is joining us after interning in the Proteomics Core at the IU Simon Cancer Center. She loves music and enjoys karaoke.
  Samuel Neif is joining the department as a Warehouse Clerk. Sam is working towards a bachelors in Biomedical Engineering at IUPUI. He is joining us after attaining a wide array of experiences in medicine and biology through various experiences from IUPUI, and St. Vincent Hospitals over the last few years. He joined the team on September 1st. He has a diverse set of hobbies from economics to weight lifting, which are both newer additions.
  Vivian Valadares is joining the department as a Research Intern. Vivianis completing her Bachelor’s of Biology at IUPUI. She joined the team in August of 2021 as an intern through the Life Health Sciences (LHSI) program. Vivian hobbies include playing soccer, traveling, and trying new coffees.

Internationally renowned faculty and an outstanding team of staff members at the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine lead groundbreaking research to detect diseases, guide treatment decisions, and advance medical breakthroughs. Our educators mentor students across all levels of study, from undergraduates pursuing degrees in medical laboratory science to MS-level training as pathologists’ assistants and medical students to residents, and postgraduate trainees and fellows.
