What is your position at the Ruth Lilly Medical Library?
I’m the Access Services Manager, which means I manage the circulation department. I’m also the Medical Library and Research building’s coordinator.
How long have you been working at the library?
I’ve worked at the library for over 21 years. During that time I also managed the inter-library loan department.
What do you like most about your job or the library?
Assisting students, staff, and faculty to find the resource or journal article they need is always gratifying. Working on marketing items to promote library classes, events, and services is a fun creative outlet too!
What is your favorite food/ favorite place to eat?
I like to try new things, but I’m not an “extreme sports” eater. I don’t need to test my endurance on spicy food and I prefer my entrées do not stare back at me. This time of year, I enjoy dining al fresco.
Where is your favorite place to travel?
There are so many places to discover, I like to explore someplace new each time. But when choosing, I usually enjoy places with attractions related to art, architecture, culture, and history. But I’m always game for a trip to the beach!
If you could witness any historical event, what would it be and why?
Probably the opening day of a significant world’s fair or exposition. Maybe the 1889 Paris Exposition? I’d like to visit the exhibits forecasting our future to see what the organizers got wrong and right. I’d like to see civilization’s triumphs for the time.
What is one item on your bucket list?
A European river cruise.
If you were to write a book about yourself, what would the title be?
“An indirect path has more scenery”
