We welcome you to the Leo J. McCarthy, M.D. History of Medicine Room and Collection library blog series. The History of Medicine collection of over 3,000 items includes a wide variety of rare, antiquarian and specialty books of medicine and the history of medicine. Our holdings range from the 16th – 20th century, wherein you shall find many subjects covered, and be able to peruse an assortment of beautiful, grotesque, and important plates. Our mission is to engage with these items with enthusiasm and curiosity. The History of Medicine room is located on the medical library’s third floor in room 307 and is generally open 10am-2pm Monday-Friday. Special visits outside those times can be arranged. Please Stop By and Enjoy!
