Riverside Community Hospital

Riverside Community Hospital

A new General Surgery Residency Program is being introduced in Riverside California. The program will start in July 2018. The program will be located at Riverside Community Hospital and will be affiliated with the University of California Riverside School of Medicine. The mission is to train well-rounded surgeons who are engaged in their local community, and can graduate and move into positions to meet the needs of the community of the Inland Empire in Southern California.

The hospital and program possess strong surgical clinical material for resident hiring. The hospital is an Accredited Level II Trauma Center and Certified Primary Stroke Center. Riverside Community Hospital has Riverside County’s only Transplant Program, performing more than 525 cases since their opening in 1996. It has residency programs in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Emergency Medicine, OB/GYN, Neurology and Transitional Year.

The Surgery Program will recruit Advanced level positions through NRMP. Applications for PGYII and PGYIII positions will be considered outside of the Match. Interviews will start on January 22, 2018 and will continue until the day before the NRMP Rank date.
