The NRMP Registration, Ranking, and Results (R3) rank-list system opens at noon on February 3, at which time you can start entering your rank lists! It must be certified and submitted by March 5 at 9 pm ET. Don’t wait until the final day—set a goal to have it done before February 28. The Registrar’s Office will verify your eligibility in late February to participate in the Match.
NRMP has guides and videos to assist you in entering your rank lists. AAMC Careers in Medicine also offers some additional helpful information regarding the rank list.
If you're ranking any Advanced (A) programs, remember these training years start in July 2026. You'll need to pair these with TY or Preliminary programs via the Supplemental Rank List for a training year that starts July 2025. Categorical (C) programs are complete training courses and do not need the preliminary year. Check out this NRMP video on creating Supplemental Rank Order Lists.
Remember to put your preliminary programs at the bottom of your primary rank list as well to create an additional safety net!
