MS1s: Apply by Feb. 28 for emergency medicine fellowship

Class of 2028: Apply by February 28 for the 2025 Emergency Medicine Summer Medical Student Fellowship for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI).

Sponsored by NYU Langone’s Ronald O. Perelman Department of Emergency Medicine and NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue, this unique four-week summer fellowship is designed to provide rising second-year medical students from underrepresented backgrounds with hands-on clinical experience and training in emergency medicine. It offers students the opportunity to go through didactic and clinical training by shadowing from hospitals for the duration of the program.

The fellowship's five funded positions include provided NYU housing, travel to New York City ($600), and a $750 stipend. Students from underrepresented backgrounds, including but not limited to those who identify as Black or African American, Latinx, Native American, Native Pacific Islander, or Native Alaskan, are encouraged to apply.

  • A copy of your current CV;
  • A one-page essay describing your interest in the fellowship and how you're committed to increasing diversity within the field of medicine;
  • A letter of recommendation from a faculty member at your medical school.
