We're excited to offer you a unique opportunity in the Electives catalog: 93ZI7750—Longitudinal Service Learning Project.
This project will focus on addressing healthcare gaps for patients living in Indiana. Through this experience, you'll have the chance to participate in the longitudinal care of a patient or patients and observe and reflect upon the impact of your interventions on health outcomes.
This elective is different from traditional block rotations because you'll have the opportunity to follow the same patient(s) over time and witness firsthand the impacts of your project on health outcomes. Our goal is to enhance your awareness of the issues faced by patients and promote future participation in volunteerism, physician advocacy, and leadership.
We want you to develop a specific healthcare goal, such as reducing maternal mortality, decreasing obesity rates, increasing vaccination rates, or decreasing unintended pregnancy rates, to address the healthcare need of your choosing.
