Are you ready to vote? The 2024 U.S. General Election has major candidates and issues on the ballot nationwide—including here in Indiana. Many physicians have emphasized the importance of increasing voter turnout among their peers. We encourage medical students to participate actively in the democratic process.

To assist Indiana and out-of-state students with voter registration, absentee ballots, early voting, and more, please refer to the Student Voter Education Guide.

  • Indiana voter registration deadline is Monday, October 6.
  • Indiana early voting is October 8 to November 4.
  • Applications to vote by absentee are due October 24.
  • Absentee ballots are due on Election Day: Tuesday, November 5.

IU School of Medicine students will still be expected to attend required courses, small groups, or clinics on Election Day. We strongly encourage students to vote early in person or by absentee.
