On September 1, 2016 we received word of an explosion that occurred on the LC40 pad were SpaceX was conducting static firing testing. Even though this was not a NASA mission due to the damage on the pad it is expected that the SpaceX-10 launch date will be affected.

We will continue to post updates regarding the launch as they funnel in and we thank you all for coming on this journey with us.

Video footage of the explosion, courtesy of US Launch Report, can be viewed here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_BgJEXQkjNQ (explosion occurs at the 1:11 mark).
