Traumatic Brain Injury Education

IU School of Medicine offers educational programs and training opportunities for postdoctoral students interested in treating individuals with traumatic brain injury and other neurological conditions. A Clinical Neuropsychology Postdoctoral Training Program and Behavioral Neurology and Neuropsychiatry Fellowship Program as well as the only Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Residency program offered in the State of Indiana are available at this academic institution.

GME

Clinical Neuropsychology Training Program

The Clinical Neuropsychology Postdoctoral Training Program at IU School of Medicine educates and trains doctorate-level psychologists in brain-behavior relationships and the ethical practice of clinical neuropsychology. This program offers two tracks: one in adult neuropsychology and one in pediatric neuropsychology.

Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Residency

The only physiatry residency program in the State of Indiana, the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Residency Program is a three-year ACGME-accredited program that provides extensive inpatient and outpatient experience with generous training in EMG, sports medicine and pediatric rehabilitation.

Behavioral Neurology and Neuropsychiatry Fellowship

A two-year, ACGME-accredited fellowship in Behavioral Neurology and Neuropsychiatry is offered through the IU School of Medicine Department of Neurology with co-sponsorship by the IU School of Medicine Department of Psychiatry. Under the direction of Liana Apostolova, MD, fellows gain broad exposure to a variety of conditions seen in the outpatient behavioral neurology and neuropsychiatry clinics, including familial and sporadic neurodegenerative conditions, traumatic brain injuries, focal brain lesions, developmental disorders and psychiatric illnesses.
