Neil H. Perdue, PhD, has been named to the newly created role of Executive Associate Dean for Strategy and Enterprise Alignment, effective January 1, 2025.

Perdue currently serves as the senior executive advisor to Dean Jay L. Hess, MD, PhD, MHSA. In this new, expanded position, Perdue will play a critical role in shaping and executing the strategic and operational plans for the Indiana University School of Medicine. He will be tasked with oversight of the development and communication of strategic initiatives that align with the school’s long-term goals, working closely with department chairs to ensure cohesion across all departments.

In this role, Perdue will act as a liaison between the School of Medicine and the IU President’s Office, facilitating policy development, compliance and communication efforts. He will also be involved in the strategic deployment of funds, particularly the implementation of the IU Health/IU School of Medicine funds flow agreement, ensuring effective investments.

Perdue will also represent the School of Medicine through participation on key IU Health board committees, including the Education and Research Committee, and will help lead in the development and review of the current joint enterprise goals between the two organizations – working to identify the next series of enterprise goals.

“I have been extremely impressed with Dr. Perdue’s skills and strategic accomplishments in just a short period of time since joining our team,” said Hess. “Dr. Perdue has been a highly effective representative for the school and the dean’s office with both our partners at IU Health and the broader University Administration. I look forward to his continued leadership with the School of Medicine.”
