Diversity Council

By placing focused emphasis on inclusion, diversity and respect, the Diversity Council at IU School of Medicine is enhancing the cultural competence of the medical school community and fostering the accomplishment of the school’s tripartite mission through programming in the areas of recruitment, retention and community service. The council seeks to encourage, enable and empower all members of the IU School of Medicine community to positively contribute to and benefit from a diverse learning and working environment.

The Diversity Council is composed of a broad representation of selected volunteers committed to a comprehensive concept of diversity. These individuals can bring experience, expertise and insights to bear on schoolwide diversity initiatives. Members serve on a year-to-year basis depending upon their level of interest, attendance and participation.
