During late August 2016, the Indiana University School of Medicine Faculty Steering Committee formed the Student Success Ad-Hoc Committee (SSAC) for purposes of exploring medical student success and factors that negatively impact that success.
The Steering Committee specifically charged the Student Success Ad-Hoc Committee, led by Alvaro Tori, MD, to define student success, explore whether underrepresented minority students had different levels of success as defined, and propose interventions based on evidence to improve all medical student success.
