Research

The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine spearheads groundbreaking research in neurodegenerative diseases, computational pathology, cancer biology, inflammation, and more. Our work drives innovation in pathology diagnosis and cancer therapy, positioning us as leaders in medical research and education. We are recruiting scientists in areas that synergize with our clinical efforts, including immunology, oncology, spatial biology and computational pathology, as well as translational science. Active recruiting is ongoing in neuropathology to grow our neurodegenerative diseases research teams.

Our department is committed to patient-centered care, clinical excellence, and transforming Hoosier health. We provide cutting-edge diagnostic technology (digital imaging, molecular diagnostics, rapid NGS and cfDNA, precision medicine, etc.) to support the best possible patient care and continuously develop clinically actionable diagnostic tests. Through hands-on training opportunities, we prepare the next generation of medical professionals while advancing the field of pathology and laboratory medicine.
