Bio
Why I chose Family Medicine: It was during my Family Medicine clerkship, where I became impressed with the opportunity to learn and participate in the practice of full spectrum medicine. Specifically, I was able to observe my preceptor's use of OMM techniques to provide additional relief for his patients. Family Medicine provides the opportunity to practice medicine, broad or narrow, creating endless opportunities. The ability to also practice Women's Health/Obstetrics, a long-standing passion of mine, as a Family Medicine physician expands the impact that I can have on patients and their families. I look forward to holistically treating patients by understanding their full healthcare needs, providing support during challenging moments, and celebrating joyous milestones. Working with patients to improve their quality of life fuels my desire to empower patients in all stages of their life.
Why I chose the IU Health Primary Care Central Indianapolis Family Medicine Residency Program: Throughout my interview, the faculty and residents of the IU Family Medicine Residency Program were incredibly welcoming, personable, and interactive, which can be challenging to showcase in a virtual setting. The interest and feedback I received while sharing parts of my journey made my interview memorable and left an unforgettable first impression. During the IU second look event, the exchanges with additional faculty/residents reinforced that IU was where I want to receive my training. I felt like I could truly be myself, learn and thrive here in this dynamic environment. Furthermore, the specialty tracks in Women's Health and Global Health are a wonderful plus for a strong academic institution where I can nurture my broader interests.
Personal interests and hobbies: Traveling overseas (especially in the Caribbean), indulging in sweets, napping, music, and spending time with family and friends.
