Zachary R. Patton, MD
Resident Appointee
Bio
Zack Patton, MD is from Remington, Indiana and obtained his medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine. He will graduate from the IU Triple Board Program in June 2027.
Why Triple Board at IU?
I found the pediatric and psychiatry faculty at IU to be incredibly supportive and encouraging during my time in medical school. Despite the size of the institution, faculty would reach out to me and follow up on conversations we would have when I was on service as a medical student. I wanted to continue growing in an environment where I could foster relationships with staff. Additionally, my wife and I love our neighborhood called Fountain Square in Indianapolis.
Career Interests:
I am interested in practicing child psychiatry for children with chronic or complex physical illnesses. I feel this population is currently underserved for a variety of reasons and would like to start an inpatient unit or outpatient practice that can confidently specialize in accepting these kids.
Outside of work:
I love to spend time with my wife, Maddie, and our dog and cat, Gus and Lenny. We love staying home and watching reality TV or walking to one of the three ice cream shops two blocks from our house. I like to stay active and enjoy going on runs on the Cultural Trail through downtown Indianapolis and playing basketball at the downtown YMCA. Lastly, Maddie and I love our monthly Triple Board get-togethers and always look forward to spending time with my coresidents!
