Why I chose IU Psychiatry Residency: Because this is the epicenter for psychiatry in the state, we have a very diverse collection of patients and pathologies.  The unit at Eskenazi especially attracted me as a high acuity unit that provides excellent care in a beautiful environment to an often underprivileged and vulnerable patient population. I knew I would receive a strong biological psychiatry education here, and have the opportunity to do neuroimaging research. I also was attracted by the array of therapies offered, from schema therapy for BPD to metacognitive therapy for schizophrenia.  The city of Indy was also a great choice for me.  It has a lot of the entertainment and restaurant options of larger cities but without the traffic and high cost of living.
