Research in the Cardiovascular Institute encompasses the full spectrum of medical research—basic, translational and clinical science. Faculty investigators studying cardiovascular disease have a strong and long-standing commitment to this research and receive generous grant awards and international support to advance their studies.

Collaboration is key to preventing and treating cardiovascular disease. Led by the Krannert Cardiovascular Research Center, interdisciplinary research teams share resources and facilities that enable interaction and relentless innovation to fuel better health for Indiana and beyond.

Cardiovascular Clinical Trials

Clinical trials test the safety and effectiveness of new drugs and treatments. Nearly all medical treatments used today began with clinical trials. Physician scientists at the Cardiovascular Institute lead clinical trials to find better ways to prevent, diagnose or treat cardiovascular diseases.
