Bio

Dr. Schneider is a native of the Midwest, originally growing up in a small town in Southern Indiana. He joined the faculty at IU Health and Indiana University School of Medicine in 2020, after completing his Internal Medicine & Pediatrics Residency, followed by a combined Adult and Pediatric Infectious Diseases Fellowship, both at Indiana University School of Medicine.

He is currently an assistant professor of both clinical pediatrics and clinical medicine within the Division of Infectious Diseases at Indiana University School of Medicine and is the medical director for antimicrobial stewardship at Riley Hospital for Children.  His particular areas of interest include clinical microbiology, next-generation diagnostic technologies, and clinical education. His research focus has been in conjunction with the Department of Pathology and Medical Microbiology in the in-vitro diagnostics clinical trials group, with a particular interest in rapid diagnostics for bloodstream infections and how they can enhance effective antibiotic stewardship interventions.
