Bio
Dr. Walker is a Midwestern native, raised in Peoria Illinois. After obtaining a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Notre Dame, she completed medical school at the University of Illinois at Chicago. She then fulfilled her Internal Medicine residency training at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX, and served an additional year as the chief resident in quality and safety at the same institution’s VA Medical Center. She then pursued Gastroenterology fellowship at Indiana University, served as chief fellow in her final year, and stayed on as faculty since 2019. She is currently an Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine. She also has a dual appointment at the Richard L. Roudebush VA Medical Center where she enjoys focusing on trainee education in addition to clinical duties. Her area of clinical focus is in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), including Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis and microscopic colitis. In the procedural realm, she performs IBD related techniques such as chromoendoscopy and stricture dilation, and also has keen interest in colorectal cancer screening and polypectomy.
