Dr. Parker has been a member of the faculty at the Indiana University School of Medicine since 2001. He is the Director of Forensic Psychiatry for the Department of Psychiatry and specializes in criminal evaluations of competence to stand trial and sanity at the time of the offense. He is also an Adjunct Professor of Law at the IU McKinney School of Law in Indianapolis, where he teaches a course on law and psychiatry, and he teaches on forensic psychiatry and mental health topics to medical students, psychiatry residents, law students, lawyers, and judges. He was the Medical Director of the Indiana Division of Mental Health and Addiction from 2003 to 2015 and was named an Exemplary Psychiatrist by the National Allinace on Mental Illness in 2011.
