Bio

Following medical school and residency training at Indiana University School of Medicine, Dr. Patel joined on as faculty in 2005 in the Abdominal division of the Indiana University School of Medicine Department of Radiology and Imaging Sciences.  His clinical duties include coverage at Methodist Hospital, University Hospital, and Eskenazi Hospital.

Dr. Patel's clinical interests include a broad scope of diagnostic imaging including CT, CT angiography, MRI, and contrast-enhanced ultrasound.  He has also provided care in the form of imaging-guided procedures including lung, liver, kidney, and bone biopsy as well as paracentesis, thoracentesis, and fluid collection drainage catheter placement.

Dr. Patel has demonstrated long-standing excellence in teaching of radiology residents as well as fellows and medical students.  He has also served a role in educating imaging technologists.

He has served as division chief for Abdominal Radiology since 2018.
