Bio
Dr. Joubert received her medical degree from Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center and her master’s degree in public health from the University of Pittsburgh.
Prior to joining Indiana University, Dr. Joubert completed an Integrated Cardiothoracic Surgery Residency at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.
Her clinical focus is in thoracic surgery and includes thoracic oncology, benign foregut conditions, and lung transplantation.
Dr. Joubert’s research focus is in lung cancer and lung transplantation. She has served as principal author or contributor to more than 12 peer-reviewed publications.
Dr. Joubert is a member of the Society of Thoracic Surgery and is Certified in Robotic Thoracic surgery through the American Society of Thoracic Surgery.

Dr. Joubert’s research has involved various aspects of thoracic surgery. A focus has been on improving outcomes in patients undergoing lung transplantation and those requiring extracorporeal membrane oxygenation. She investigates the biology of lung cancer, including treatment modalities and patterns of recurrence. In addition, she aims to identify areas of improvement in surgical techniques for benign foregut conditions.
Her clinical focuses in thoracic surgery include: thoracic oncology, benign foregut conditions, lung transplantation, robotic thoracic surgery, lung cancer, esophageal cancer, esophageal diverticula, achalasia, thymic tumors, mediastinal tumors, neurogenic Thoracic Outlet Syndrome, disorders of the diaphragm, and hiatal hernia.
