Bio

Dr. Olson currently serves as assistant professor of surgery in the Department of Pediatric Surgery. Dr. Olson received his medical degree from The Ohio State University. Prior to joining Indiana University, Dr. Olson completed his fellowship training in pediatric surgery at Vanderbilt University. His clinical focus is on pediatric surgery and includes minimally invasive surgery, neonatal surgery, and surgical oncology. Dr. Olson’s research focus is on the prevention of necrotizing enterocolitis. He has served as first author or contributor to more than 15 peer-reviewed publications.

Dr. Olson is a member of the American Pediatric Surgical Association and the American College of Surgeons.

  • Research

    Dr. Olson completed a research fellowship at the Nationwide Children’s Hospital Center for Perinatal Research in June 2017. He also has research interests in novel methods of probiotic administration for the prevention and treatment of neonatal necrotizing enterocolitis.
