Bio

Dr. Laycock is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Pediatrics in the Ryan White Center for Pediatric Infectious Disease and Global Health at the Indiana University School of Medicine and Riley Hospital for Children at IU Health. Dr. Laycock cares for children at Riley Hospital on the General and Immune Compromised Pediatric Infectious Diseases Services as well as in the Riley Outpatient Center. Her formal education includes residency and chief residency training in Pediatrics at Tulane University and Ochsner Hospital for Children in New Orleans, Louisiana, and fellowship training in Pediatric Infectious Diseases at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She also received a Diploma in Tropical Medicine and Hygiene from the Gorgas Memorial Institute of Tropical and Preventive Medicine in Lima, Peru. She joined Indiana University in 2022. Dr. Laycock is passionate about improving infection surveillance and prevention in resource-limited settings. Her research focuses on global child health with particular focuses on tuberculosis, Group B Streptococcus, and mosquito-borne arboviruses. In her free time, she enjoys baking, kayaking, traveling, and exploring the arts scene around Indianapolis.
