Bio

Jim Davis received a Ph.D. in Human Physiology from the University of Oregon, an M.S. in Kinesiology from California State University, Fullerton, and a B.S. in Exercise Science from Brigham Young University.  He joins IU from Indiana State University. His research interests include improving student learning outcomes in large classroom settings, the efficacy of exam retakes on student outcomes, and how to break down barriers that prevent students from talking to professors. Prior to coming to Indiana University Dr. Davis published articles in The Journal of Physiology and The Journal of Applied Physiology.  He received college teacher of the year (2019-20); and outstanding service to the college award (2020-21) while at Indiana State University.
