Bio
Why I chose Family Medicine: There are so many reasons that I chose family medicine! Throughout medical school, I enjoyed my time with every specialty, but fell in love with family medicine as you are able to see a little bit of everything. The diversity of patients and the pathologies that you see make every day exciting and provide opportunities to learn something new! Secondly, and most importantly, you have the opportunity to get to know your patients and their families while becoming invested in your community. I love how family medicine focuses on forming relationships with people in order to treat the whole person – their body, mind, soul – and their communities. I cannot imagine choosing anything else.
Why I chose the IU Health Primary Care Central Indianapolis Family Medicine Residency Program: When looking at residency programs, I was looking for a program that provided full-scope, broad spectrum family medicine training. I wanted to have opportunities for procedures, strong inpatient training, high volume obstetrics, and strong community engagement. I found all of those things and more at IU. With a special interest in global health and women’s care, the opportunity to have extra training through both the Global Health Track and Women’s Health Track further solidified my choice of IU! Throughout the whole virtual interview process, everyone was so kind and inviting, making IU feel like home before ever stepping foot in the clinic.
Interests and hobbies: In my spare time, you’ll find me outside. I love to run while listening to crime podcasts, hike national parks, and ice skate before enjoying some hot coca. When not outside or trying to convince my husband we need a dog, I love planning our next travel adventure.
