Bio

Dr. Watkins graduated from the University of Illinois College of Medicine in 1981. His postgraduate training, including a GI Fellowship, was obtained at the University of Illinois Hospital in Chicago, Illinois. Following his fellowship, he served as an Instructor in Medicine and Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Illinois. He later served as an Associate Professor of Medicine (CHS), University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics, where he was Director of Therapeutic Endoscopy and ERCP. He is certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology, and is a member of the American Gastrointestinal Association, American College of Physicians and the American College of Gastroenterology. He is active in the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and is a past member of the National Informatics Committee. He joined the Division of Gastroenterology/Hepatology at the Indiana University Medical Center in 2000, and is currently the Associate Clinical Professor of Medicine in the Department of Medicine at Indiana University. His research interests include Diagnostic and Therapeutic ERCP and Sphincter of Oddi Manometry.
