Bio

Dr. Yu currently works as an Assistant Research Professor in Cardiothoracic Surgery, in the Department of Surgery. He received an MS degree from Chinese Academy of Preventive Medicine and a PhD degree from the Department of Microbiology and Immunology, Indiana University.

Dr. Yu has knowledge and skills in the fields of molecular biology, cellular biology, immunology, microbiology, cardiovascular research, cancer research, and clinical studies.

Research

Dr. Yu is interested in studying some of the molecular and cellular events that can affect the progression of cardiovascular disease. He aims to apply his expertise to tease out and look into the molecular and cellular players that contribute to the worsening of cardiovascular disease so that we can devise methods to curb or reverse the development of cardiovascular diseases.
