Bio

Dr. Hartauer worked at Eli Lilly (Lilly Research Laboratories) for 26 years, retiring as a Research Fellow.  In his career at Lilly, his technical focus was on the oral delivery of small molecules.  He was the lead formulation scientist or provided technical leadership on multiple marketed products, including Lorabid® Capsules, Lorabid® Oral Suspension,  Evista® Tablets, Symbyax Capsules (combination product), and Strattera® Oral Solution.   He is an inventor on 8 issued U.S. Patents and multiple international patents.  He currently consults in his research areas of interest, including oral dosage form development,  formulation approaches for poorly soluble drug candidates, and biopharmaceutics.  He has over a decade of management experience with prior responsibility for a drug discovery interface group (Biopharmaceutics), Global Pharmacokinetics, Formulation Development, Material Sciences / Physical Characterization and Project Management.   In addition to leading groups in the U.S., Dr. Hartauer also has had responsibility for global sites located in Belgium, Germany, and Japan.  Dr. Hartauer obtained both his B.S. in Pharmacy and Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of Iowa.
