Bio

Michelle Kussin is a clinical pharmacist in pediatric infectious disease at Riley Hospital for Children at Indiana University Health in Indianapolis, Indiana.  She also serves as Co-Director of the Pediatric Antimicrobial Stewardship (PAS) program and as Adjunct Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at Indiana University School of Medicine.  She completed her Doctor of Pharmacy education at the South Carolina College of Pharmacy - Columbia Campus.  She went on to complete a PGY-1 pharmacy practice residency at Boston Medical Center in Boston, MA, followed by a PGY-2 specialty residency in pediatric oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City.  She is a Board-Certified Oncology Pharmacist (BCOP) and has served as faculty for The American Society of Health-System Pharmacists and American College of Clinical Pharmacy (ASHP/ACCP) as the pediatric malignancies content expert.  She is certified in antimicrobial stewardship serves as a preceptor for pharmacy residents, pediatric ID fellows, and students. Her practice interests include infectious disease in immunocompromised children, de-labeling penicillin allergies, utilizing electronic medical record to improve antibiotic prescribing, and pediatric pharmacokinetics.
