Bio
Samantha Sharma, PhD, earned her degree in Human Genetics at CSIR-Institute of Genomics and Integrative Biology, Delhi, India. In 2018, Dr. Sharma became a postdoctoral fellow at the Indiana University’s School of Medicine. She has developed bioinformatic skills to handle population data of diverse altitudes to look for variants involved in high-altitude adaptation and complex human diseases.
Currently, Dr. Sharma is working to become an independent investigator to implement her skills in bioinformatics and translational research for tumor immunology and cancer immunotherapy research. She also has a number of peer reviewed articles in high-impact journals, including the Journal of Clinical Investigation and Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States of America.
Dr. Sharma has developed in-depth knowledge of handling large-scale genomics and transcriptomics data and implementing those results for translational studies like understanding cancer development and drug development. Her long-term goal is to implement her knowledge and unique skills in bridging multiple disciplines, including DNA damage, hypoxia, and cancer immunotherapy.
