Bio

Dr. Bushey trained at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, where he earned MD and PhD degrees and completed a General Psychiatry Residency. His training provided an emphasis on highly individualized patient care, which he applied in the assessment of patients with complex pain syndromes for the Johns Hopkins Pain Treatment Program. In his current practice, he specializes in the treatment of patients with chronic pain, somatic symptom disorder, functional neurological conditions (i.e. conversion disorders), and medically-unexplained symptoms. He also serves as Medical Director of the Indiana University Health Pain Rehabilitation Program at Methodist Hospital.

    Dr. Bushey is involved in health services research aimed at developing, testing, and implementing innovative models of care. He is especially interested in collaborative care and utilizing technology to increase access to psychiatric services, especially for people with chronic pain and addiction.
