Dr. Stephen Ash, MD, FACP, is an adjunct clinical assistant professor of medicine at Indiana University School of Medicine and a nephrologist. Currently he is the Chairman at HemoCleanse, Inc. He earned his medical degree from the University of Kansas Medical School in 1971 followed by a residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in nephrology at the Indiana University Medical School. His many awards include the Lifetime Achievement Award from ASDIN, and the Award for Excellence from the National Kidney Foundation of Indiana. In June 2025, Dr. Ash was awarded the Willem Kolff Prize in Kampen, Amsterdam. This award is for “revolutionary invention” in the field of artificial organs, and it is given annually to one individual, world-wide.
