Why I chose IU Psychiatry Residency: I went to medical school here at IU and five years ago I would not have thought I would stay in Indiana or that I would be in Psychiatry. My experiences with wonderful faculty members, who would later become mentors, and interactions with the current residents ultimately led to this decision. I appreciated that the residents were kind, helpful, and honest about their experiences (both good and bad) with the program. They appeared happy and healthy (you know, since they were covered by great health insurance). All of this, coupled with the good cost of living and great benefits, led to me continuing my training here in Indiana.
