Bio

Dr. Ballinger received her BS in biochemistry and philosophy from the University of Notre Dame and her MD from Indiana University.  She attended Vanderbilt University for internal medicine residency and completed her oncology fellowship at Indiana University in 2017.  She currently serves as an associate professor of clinical medicine and is the Vera Bradley Foundation Scholar in Breast Cancer Research. Her clinical practice with the IU Simon Cancer Center and Catherine Peachey Prevention Program focuses on breast oncology and breast cancer prevention.  Her research is centered around how body composition and physical activity affect patients across the cancer continuum, from prevention to late stage disease.
