Bio
Why I chose Family Medicine: My love of Family Medicine is based in my interest in treating patients at the extremes of life (i.e. OB, pediatrics, geriatrics, and palliative care). Family Medicine is the only specialty that can treat all of those patients, so choosing Family Medicine was a no-brainer. I greatly enjoy that continuity of care in Family Medicine and using those relationships to help patients achieve their health goals.
Why I chose the IU Health Primary Care Central Indianapolis Family Medicine Residency Program: I wanted a large program with a big hospital system so that I am given the opportunity to see all types of patients during my training. Additionally, Indianapolis is home for me, and I wanted to choose the residency program that would help me give back to the community I love. IU was clearly my favorite option from an academic and social perspective. I couldn’t be happier to stay with IU after graduating from the IU School of Medicine!
Interests and hobbies: Similar to how I was drawn to family medicine because of my diverse interests in medicine, I have diverse interests outside of medicine. I love relaxing and watching sporting events from football to soccer to basketball to tennis. I am a washed-up college track and field athlete, but I still enjoy going on a good run. I also play guitar with my favorite types of music to play being the blues and classic rock. Admittedly, video games are my ultimate hobby for recharging my batteries. Additionally, I have a master’s degree in philosophy and bioethics, so I love pursuing reading, writing, and researching bioethics when I get the chance outside of my medical responsibilities.
