John F. Fitzgerald, MD, MBA, oversees the IU School of Medicine Dean’s Office of Clinical Affairs, which is charged with providing exceptional clinical care that also supports and advances education and research.

Dr. Fitzgerald joined IU School of Medicine as a faculty member in 1987 and has since served as CEO of the IU Health Physicians. Comprised of more than 950 faculty physicians, IU Health Physicians is the largest physician group in Indiana and delivers the most advanced medical treatment options available in the state.

Dr. Fitzgerald has also served as a professor of medicine and adjunct professor in the IU School of Public Health and Environmental Affairs. As a general internal medicine physician with a business degree, Dr. Fitzgerald is well-suited to manage the business aspects of medicine and has extensive experience leading a large medical group and health plan, in addition to managing a broad network of state and county health industry and government contacts.
